Chag Sameach! Tis the spring holiday season.... Pesach, Easter....I just wanted to take a minute to tell our family and friends that we had 2 lovely seders here in Freetown, just in case you were worried about whether or not we'd be able to observe the holiday. Monday night we organized a dinner for about 14-15 people - some even knew Hebrew. And for those friends who hadn't been to a seder before, they said they really enjoyed it. I was super happy -- it was almost as good as being home with family, because we see these friends enough that they've become our "Freetown Family" and it really was a special treat to have people here to celebrate with. My mom sent some of her famous recipes out this way, and we were able to put quite a nice dinner together -- our first time ever hosting -- but I have the feeling it won't be our last! Last night we were fortunate enough to attend a seder that Chabad was hosting at a hotel in town. It was the most amazing thing. Two Brooklyn yeshiva boys came out here for a week, with suitcases full of wine, matzah, and chicken soup... and they managed to find about 10-15 people (people we didn't know) Last night was mostly Israeli men participating, and so the ceremony was entirely in Hebrew... and we flew through it somehow, it went fast but we were able to basically follow along. And we learned that Chabad sends people to pretty much anywhere, as long as you get in touch with them and ask. So, now we know. I wish you all could have been there, it was pretty great.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that we're fine. And missing you. We'll write again soon. Enjoy the holidays!!
